This quick guide will go over how you can set your Fresh Store Builder store to WWW or NON-WWW. You will need to make sure your SITE URL parameter is set to the correct URL. Then you will need to modify your .htaccess file to add the code for the redirect you want to do.

Step 1. Login to your freshadmin control panel and click on Tools – Change Parameters.

Step 2. Click on the Store Tab and find the “Site URL” parameter. Make sure the URL is set to the correct format that you want. VERY IMPORTANT NOT TO REMOVE THE / AT THE END OR YOUR STORE WILL BREAK.

Step 3. Once you have confirmed your SITE URL is set to the correct format. You need to modify the .htaccess file that comes with fresh store builder. Please make sure you are editing the correct .htaccess file. If you are using ADDON DOMAINS then each of your addon domain folder will have its own .htaccess file. You can use CPANEL File manager or any FTP software to modify your .htaccess file (It’s always a good idea to make a backup of your .htaccess file just in case something goes wrong and you can quickly go back)

Step 4. Adding the redirect code for your website. The image below shows me adding a redirect rule to set my store from www to non-www. Please find the correct code for your situation under these images. VERY IMPORTANT – DO NOT REMOVE ANY TEXT FROM THE .HTACCESS FILE OR YOU CAN BREAK YOUR STORE. YOU MUST PASTE THE NEW CODE ON A NEW LINE.

Code to add for www to non-www

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www\.(.*)$ [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://%1/$1 [R=301,L]

CODE to add for non-www to www

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} !^www\. [NC] RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.%{HTTP_HOST}/$1 [R=301,L]
