Sometimes you can’t just transfer your domain name straight away but still need to access your hosting services in order to test your import, installations, etc. This simple How To will guide you in achieving just that.
In order to setup a temporary URL you can:
- Point a subdomain of your main domain to our servers (this will be available right away).
- Request for a temporary URL to our Support Department (will require some processing time, usually 24 hours or less). If you want to go with this route please feel free to submit a support ticket, otherwise keep reading bellow.
In order to point a subdomain to us please follow these simple steps:
- Create an A entry and point it to your hosting IP address (this address is in your welcome email). Ex.: 18.104.22.168. You can name your A entry whatever you want, for example: testdomain. If using testdomain then your test url would become testdomain.yourdomain.com
- Once you have created your A entry then all you need to do is Park this domain name on top of your hosting account. To do this you will have to log in to your cpanel account (information is in your welcome email), then go to “Parked Domains” option under “Domains” category. In here you simply type your test url, ex: testdomain.yourdomain.com and you should be all set.
If all went well, you should now be able to access your website hosted with us using: testdomain.yourdomain.com.
If you require any further assistance or information, please do not hesitate to contact us by opening a support ticket.
